* Clothes : preferable to bring layers of clothing (when we take a break,you can wear more to keep the heat),gloves(2 gloves when it's windy),warm hat,neck warmer, 2 socks.extra socks just in case.

* camera,cash,cell-phone

belongs to the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range which divides Gangwon-do (Gangwon Province) into two regions, Yeongdong and Yeongseo, with Gangneung falling in the eastern Yeongdong and Pyeongchang in the western Yeongseo. The annual average snowfall in Seonjaryeong reaches more than one meter from late November to early March.

The beautiful snowy landscape spreading out from the top of Seonjaryeong

As they are located at high altitudes, Daegwallyeong and Seonjaryeong always have snow piled up even as late as March. Starting from Daegwallyeong Rest Stop, trekkers hike up to Seonjaryeong, where they will find themselves surrounded by a beautiful snowy landscape.

About 1.5 kilometers up along the cement path to the Daegwanryeung Meteorological Observatory from Yeongdong Highway Rest Stop lies Guksaseonghwangdang, where Koreans used to worship the mountain spirit of Daegwallyeong.

Passing along the path lined with fir trees blanketed with snow, one can see the stairs ahead. Beyond the trail lies a sheep farm, one of the must-visit sites of Daegwallyeong. The fence of the sheep farm leads to the trail to Seonjaryeong. Following the right path leads to the abovementioned Guksaseonghwangdang.

If you don’t have the guts to make your way through the snowfield, you will have no regrets. Walking through the snow for about one and a half hours, one can get the whole picture of Seonjaryeong. Thanks to the constant footsteps of winter trekkers on the snow-covered ground, climbers visiting the site at this time of year can go up the hills without their feet sinking deep into the snow.

We will hike the most popular trails along the ridge, by sheep ranch and make it to the top! anyone can walk as long as they want also.

then we will hike down the hill and walk along the valley and forest where we can enjoy butt-sliding the most. Then we finish the hiking.
